River Report – Wednesday 5/13

Sun’s shining and we’re looking at a nice weekend ahead of us! Overall, rivers are in great shape and I hope you’re all finding some peace on the river during everything happening. We’re soon getting into big big season! Yep, get ready! March brown, Isonychia, Drake’s
.. the easy to see bugs that make for some amazing fishing!

Hatches: Olives, Apple Caddis, Tan/Grey Caddis, March Browns, Gray Fox, Iso’s (soon), Green Drake’s (soon)

River Conditions:

Wappinger Creek: 270cfs @ Red Oaks Mill

East Branch Croton River: 195cfs @ Brewster

West Branch Croton River: 227cfs @ Croton Falls

Esopus Creek: 397cfs @ Cold Brook Rd. 47 degrees

Beaverkill: 572cfs @ Cooks Falls. 44 degrees

West Branch Delaware: 1330cfs @ Hale Eddy. 44 degrees

East Branch Delaware: 264cfs @ Downsville. 43 degrees

It’s a great time to be on the water – the next few weeks we will see some of the larger insects hatching. Now is the time to carry a variety of flies. Remember, look for what’s on the water, not in the air! Fish something different – if a parachute isn’t doing the trick, fish an emerger. Pay attention to how a fish is rising and it will tell you what you need to know!
