Catskill Experience

Catskill Experience

It’s not about the fish, it’s about the experience. I know, I know; You’ve heard that a million and one times. I’m not writing this to tell you that [although, we wholeheartedly agree]. I’m writing this to tell you who we are, what we do, and that we, Creek & Cackle, are not all about the fish.

Since day one with a fly rod, fly fishing, for me, has been about the experience and the time spent waist deep in a Catskill river. It’s about carrying on tradition; about respecting our public waters; about laughing and sharing a beer at the end of the day; and about sharing this all with friends new and old. Spending a day on the river is about the experience – before, during, and after.

We fly fish because we want to slow down and stop thinking about the daily grind. As the loop unrolls on a cast, touches down on the water’s surface, and you see a wild Esopus rainbow sip your fly nothing else matters. That is why we fly fish. We are Creek & Cackle thanks to a passion for the mountains, rivers, and uplands. A passion for conservation and all things wild. We believe that anyone spending their day fishing with us deserves the utmost respect and service – whether you are a new angler or have been at it for years. We want to share our experiences with you, and of course a few laughs along the way.

We’ve got a lot coming in 2020 – float trips, trout camps, and partnerships. Be sure to sign up for our newsletter to hear more and stay connected! I’ve met some of the most genuine people through fly fishing – Anyone who fly fishes is a friend, we just may haven’t met yet.
